Laura Orvieto Laura Orvieto, is an Ecuadorian writer who presented under the editorial seal of Moré Publications her first poetry book titled Huellas En La Arena (Footprints in the Sand). She was born in Quito, Ecuador, on January 15, 1979. She is the daughter of an Ecuadorian mother and American father. She currently lives in New Jersey where she studied Marketing & Management in Saint Peters College.

She started writing when she was 15 years old, time from which she accumulated the poems that now make the book Huellas En La Arena. A flood of poetry was created in her mind from the moment in which she set foot by the ocean. Several hours in communion with the ocean, the sun and the sand gave birth to the world that is her poetry.

Her fascination with the ocean is what gave inspiration to create the words which shape each one of her poems, which left footprints in the sand of her imagination.

Laura had the honor of been a semifinalist in the Third International Poetry and Short Story Contest from “Editorial Nuevo Ser” in Argentina, as well as publishing her work in several anthologies, including “Mundo Poético” in 2003. Laura has also supported the literary development of the Hispanic community in New Jersey and in Ecuador by donating copies of her book Huellas En La Arena to low income students.

Laura admires Gabriel García Márquez and Isabel Allende, and even though she has started with a book of poems, she feels her calling is to write novels.

The author of Huellas En La Arena is currently working on her latest book, a compilation of bold short stories that are sure to touch her readers in more than one way.
